Hope Squad

Slide 1
Hope Squad is a Suicide PREVENTION, INTERVENTION, and POSTVENTION program and mental health awareness program for students at AHS.

Hope Squads reduce youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention.   Hope Squad is an internationally known suicide intervention program for kids of all ages.  Check out Hope Squad’s website for more information https://hopesquad.com/.

Hope Squad meets biweekly on Thursday lunches where the squad learns lessons surrounding mental health, plans and coordinates student activities, events, and messages surrounding mental health and suicide.  The squad are peer allies and not professional counselors.  All mental health concerns will be relayed to the Hope Squad Advisors, school counselors, and resources if necessary.

Our goal as a squad this year is PEER SUPPORT. That looks like sitting with/inviting new peers to sit with them at lunch, starting conversations with those in classes that look lonely or struggling, and being a positive and friendly presence to all.

Hope Squad is aiming to make a shift, an impact, a difference in all lives at AHS. To change the culture, the conversations, and the support all students receive. We are here for you šŸ’š.
